Germany is not facing an isolated bad summer – we are in a water crisis, and the effects are already rippling through supply chains, business continuity, and human health. For many companies, water has long felt like a distant issue somewhere upstream in the supply chain. That is changing: rising temperatures and water stress are already forcing production slowdowns in water-intensive industries, and disruption to agricultural basins abroad has direct consequences for corporate supply security here in Germany.
