POWER PULSE: geothermal heat for the energy transition

🌐 Language: English
♿ Wheel-chair accessible
🎟️ Hosted by: Telura
Geothermal energy is the energy transition's most underused resource, and reaching it faster decides how much it can deliver.
POWER PULSE brings the geothermal value chain onto one panel: operator, planner, investor and technology developer. Together they map the landscape, from Germany's potential to geothermal's global promise of firm, sustainable heat and power for homes and cities. They trace what has held this resource back, and what it takes to reach the heat several kilometers beneath our feet, faster and cheaper than today.
A rock split by lightning (more precisely: high-voltage pulses) sits among the breakfast spread: the technology built to drill that hole in less time than it takes to finish your coffee.
Program:
9:00 Doors open - Breakfast, coffee, and a look at the technology on display
9:20 Welcome
9:30 Panel: Geothermal in the Energy Mix
10:10 Open floor for questions
10:25 Closing
10:30 Networking
The panel
- Maria Leis, Germany Lead at Project Tempo, moderates. Project Tempo's recent research shows that geothermal is Germany's least polarized energy technology. That finding sets the frame for our discussion.
- Helmut Mangold, Managing Director of Innovative Energie Pullach (IEP), brings the operator's view from decades of geothermal heat supply in the Munich region.
- Marco Entchev, Senior Geoscientist and Project Manager at ERDWERK, brings the planner's view: where projects start underground, and where they stall.
- Philip Specht, Partner at AENU, brings the investor's view on what makes geothermal investable.
- Philipp Engelkamp, CEO and Co-Founder of Telura, brings the technology view on next-generation drilling.
Please note that photographs and video recordings will be taken during the event for documentation, reporting, and public communication purposes; for online events, this includes recordings of the session and screenshots. If you do not wish to be included in such recordings, please let us know on site or, for online events, at the start of the session (e.g. via chat) – you are also welcome to keep your camera switched off. We will take this into consideration.
