Most of us know the science. So why is it still so hard to convince people?
Climate facts alone rarely change minds. Anyone who has made the case for climate action at work, in their community or at a family dinner knows the problem. Getting through to people who aren’t looking for climate information, or who have other priorities, takes more than better data.
This Climate Café is about exactly that: how climate communication can reach people where they are and actually move decisions in organisations and communities. Three speakers will look at the question from three angles: research, journalism and grassroots activism.
Speakers
🎓 Prof. Stefanie Walter, TUM
Researches science and crisis communication: how media debates shape the way societies respond to climate change, and why some messages land while others don’t.
📰 Sven Egenter, Clean Energy Wire
Founder and editor-in-chief of Clean Energy Wire, which reports on Germany’s energy transition for journalists and an international audience.
✊ Elizaveta Kerimova, Munich Climate Week
Part of the Munich Climate Week lead team, bringing the grassroots perspective: how people get moved to act from the ground up.

About the Climate Café
The Climate Café is a monthly community panel by the Global Shapers Munich, the Munich hub of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community. Each edition brings experts from science, business and civil society together with young professionals to discuss climate challenges and how to create impact, locally and globally. It’s an open, welcoming space to share ideas and take concrete steps together. Everyone interested is welcome.
