Building the trust layers for nature investments
🌐 Language: English
♿ Wheel-chair accessible
🎟️ Hosted by: The Landbanking Group & TÜV SÜD
In a nutshell: An invite-only, interactive and visionary session. Not a panel, not a roundtable, but a space for guests to exchange experiences and ideas in a curated environment, dive into real-world cases, and co-create the building blocks of trust for nature finance instruments.
Who is the event for? Investors, asset managers and funders of nature, corporates, insurers and NGOs
About the event:
Capital that wants to protect or restore nature at scale is not short of ambition. The barrier is rarely appetite, it is trust. Investors, asset managers and funders increasingly want to back conservation and nature-positive outcomes, but new instruments – such as Verifiable Nature Units (VNUs) and Nature Stocks – and the emerging nature market are still unfamiliar territory.
What gives those who can mobilize capital for nature at scale the necessary assurance and, ultimately, the peace of mind to make the investment decision? What does it take to turn trust from an abstract value into a concrete, demonstrable mechanism or instrument?
TÜV SÜD and The Landbanking Group, together, are uniquely positioned to address this challenge: TLG brings the nature data infrastructure, and with it, the instruments, methodology and project pipeline for nature investments; TÜV SÜD brings independent verification and a global reputation for technical assurance.
With VNUs already certified, and verification of the Ecosystem Integrity Index (EII) methodology now underway, the event will take a candid, visionary and pragmatic look at what it actually takes to build credibility and trust at scale.
Agenda:
17:00 – Arrival & VR experience
17:30 – Opening: Trust is the bottleneck. Capital is ready, but assurance is what unlocks action. And: a brief look at validation vs. verification vs. certification
17:45 – Building Trust: New instruments – VNU, EII & Nature Stocks. Dialogue with Dr. Sonja Stuchtey and Bratin Roy on how nature instruments can build the trust needed for investment at scale
18:20 – VNU in Practice: The Verifier's View. Dialogue with Thomas Frohn and Eric Tolcach on what independent verification really requires
18:55 – Discussion tables: What builds trust? Small-group discussions on what's needed to build credibility in nature investments
19:30 – Wrap-up & outlook
19:45 – Snacks, drinks, exchange & VR experience
20:30 – End
