BCG Sustainability Day: Water Roundtable with Quantis - Pathways to Restore Germany’s Water Balance
Session 2 of 3 at the BCG Sustainability Day (co-hosted with Quantis)
A few days of rain do not end a drought. Germany is not facing an isolated bad summer – we are in a water crisis, and the effects are already rippling through supply chains, business continuity, and human health. For many companies, water has long felt like a distant issue somewhere upstream in the supply chain. That is changing: rising temperatures and water stress are already forcing production slowdowns in water-intensive industries, and disruption to agricultural basins abroad has direct consequences for corporate supply security here in Germany.
Join us for a conversation on pathways to restore Germany's water balance: how to expand availability, use water smarter, and build resilience for the years ahead – including how regenerative agriculture and landscape-level solutions can de-risk the basins companies depend on, and what role industry, agriculture, and policymakers each play. A scene-setting presentation by BCG and Quantis kicks things off, but the real focus is the exchange that follows on the roundtable – an open dialogue with practitioners from corporates, conservation, and the public sector.
