Sustainable Construction from Design to Delivery

🌐 Language: English
♿ Wheel-chair accessible
💶 Event free of charge
We have more sustainability targets, certifications and environmental data than ever before. But when a building is designed and materials are chosen, what really determines how sustainable it becomes?
Join us at Emidat for a conversation about how sustainability ambitions translate into decisions about buildings - from reusing what already exists to designing for longer lifespans and choosing materials.
Joining the conversation are:
- Sebastian Bildau, architect and urban planner with experience in life cycle assessment and embodied carbon in building materials.
- Prof. Bettina-Maria Müller, associated with IU Munich and bmquadrat, whose work includes adaptive reuse, circular architecture and digital approaches to building design.
- Emidat, bringing a perspective on how material manufacturers produce environmental product data and how it can support design and material choices.
Together, we’ll explore what guides decisions in real projects, where environmental data helps and where it falls short, and what architects need from material manufacturers to make better-informed choices.
Expect short speaker inputs followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A. We’ll finish with drinks and time to continue the conversation.
Whether you work in the built environment or are simply curious about sustainable buildings, you’re welcome to join.
